The dedication of the Missouri S&T faculty in preparing students for admission into select graduate programs and professional schools has resulted in the department having a number of distinguished alums that include professors, politicians, judges, lawyers, corporate executives, bank presidents, school administrators and teachers, commissioned military officers, clergymen and many other professions and areas of distinguished service.
If you are interested in teaching history at the secondary school level, you may enter the teacher education program . Missouri S&T is approved by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to offer professional education programs for purposes of professional certification. The purpose of the program is to satisfy the continuing need for well-qualified teachers in Missouri schools and to provide a second career option for graduates. You may earn a B. A. Degree in History from Missouri S&T and certification to teach in the schools of Missouri. This program may be completed in four academic years and student teaching is arranged with public schools within 30 miles of the Rolla campus.
