Since with a History Education degree and a social studies certification in 2007, Sarah Parry Myers has become Associate Professor of History and Messiah University. Her first book, Earning Their Wings: The WASPs of World War II and the Fight for Veteran Recognition (UNC Press, 2023), discusses women pilots from the early days of aviation through the 1970s when they received veteran status.
"One of my favorite experiences was attending an architecture trip with Dr. Jeff Schramm’s history of architecture course. We visited a Frank Lloyd Wright house and took a couple of architecture tours via land and boat that I found fascinating. I loved leaving campus for a few days and visiting public history sites. I am now a professor of public history at a small liberal arts university in central Pennsylvania and I take my students on trips to give them the same type of learning experiences at Gettysburg National Military Park and in Washington D.C."
